Windows 2000 Server and SQL Server 2000 do not use the .NET framework so in general they should not be affected. If you do not already have .NET Framework 1.1 installed on the server, there shouldn't be any issue at all. Generally speaking, 1.1 and 2.0 don't have issues with each other co-existing, however, it's something you still want to test. In my organization's experience, we have several systems which have mixed 1.1 and 2.0 assemblies and they haven't encountered any issues. However, they went through some stringent testing before rolling into production.

Hi everyone,
I am looking into installing dotNet 2.0 on our Windows 2000 server
with SP4
having IIS 5.0, SQL2000 server running.
There are a few web sites running on the server with some ASP
application.
My question is:
- What is the major change when we install dotNet 2.0 on Windows 2000
server
having SQL2000, IIS5.0 on it?
- What is the effect might happen to our web site application asp if
having
dotNet 2.0 installation on the server?
Thanks for anyone's input
