Re: I accidently delete the "open with.." in register.

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Thanks Jerold,

But actually, for all .xxx,

HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.htm\OpenWithList
a REG_SZ iexplore.exe
MRUList REG_SZ acfbehgd
b REG_SZ WINWORD.EXE
....

the list similar to above .htm are out there untouched.

The problem really is that one mal-behavioural apps added an item
on top of right-click-mouse menu in windows explorer. I tried to delete
it in regedit. But somehow did a mistake. Now for any .ext, the
"Openwith"
item do not appear at all although the above keys are there for each
..ext
in the regedit.

Please help.

In Windows-Explorer, right click the mouse, one can choose the
"open with" to choose an application to open it. Now this is gone,
it's very inconvenient.

Can I get it back?

Thanks in advance.

See the information at tip 2692 » In 'Open With', I accidentally checked 'Always use this program to open these files'.
