semaphore timeout expired

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hi all.
I'm sure this has been previorly discussed, but I was unable to retrieve the
message.
I'v got this message trying to create a new folder or copy a file to one of
my disk drives.
I have W2K installed and I'm the administrator.
I can delete enything but I cannot write anymore.
Any clue?
The C. drive works fine.
ANy clues?
