mapped drive dissappears

I map a drive using "net use ... /persistant = yes" in the logon script.
On occaision the map will just dissappear from the list of drives. Is it
possible that because of some type of glitch in the Matrix the drive
temporarily isn't available so Win2k removes it from the list? I mean does
Win2k behave this way?
I can immediately remap the drive and all is well so it's a transient
thing what ever is causing this but I would REALLY like to stop anything
from removing the mapped drive. Can this be done?
