I'm having the same problem. Fresh install of SBS 2003 and
got the fax installed about 15 minutes ago. I configured
the Incoming Routing to Send to an email address (the
receptionist's) and save the fax to a designated folder. I
sent a test fax and told SBS to send me a notification of
its delivery (Administrator account) via email and to
attach the fax. This portion errors out with the following
    in Event Viewer:

    Source: Microsoft Fax
    Category: Outbound
    Event ID: 32085
    Description:
     The following error occurred: 0x8004020E.
This error code indicates the cause of the error.

     Sender User Name: nededc\Administrator.
     Sender Name: Administrator.
     Submitted On: 2:35:35 PM.

But the fax was received at the remote end, and it appears
in the Fax Console's Sent Items.

I had the remote end send a return fax to check incoming,
and it is saved to the designated folder with no problem,
however when attempting to deliver to the receptionist's
mailbox it errors out with the following:

    Source: Microsoft Fax
    Category: Inbound
    Event ID: 32083
    Description:
Unable to route fax C:\Documents and Settings\All
    Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows
    NT\MSFax\Queue\1C465ECBF8A84.tif to the requested e-mail
    address.

     The following error occurred: 0x8004020E
This error code indicates the cause of the error.

Check the SMTP server configuration, and correct any
    anomalies.

    Source: Microsoft Fax
    Category: Inbound
    Event ID: 32089
    Description:
The Fax Service failed to execute a specific routing
method. The service will retry to route the fax according
to the retries configuration. If the retries fail, verify
    routing method configuration.
     Job ID: 0x0401c465ecbf8a84.
Received on Device: 'Conexant ACF External PnP V92 Data
    Fax Modem'
     Sent from: 'Juxtapose'
Received file name: 'C:\Documents and Settings\All
    Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows
    NT\MSFax\Queue\1C465ECBF8A84.tif'.
Routing extension name: 'Microsoft Routing Extension'
Routing method name: 'Route through e-mail'

I've looked over the SMTP configuration, and can find no
anomalies. Is there a solution to this problem? If anyone
needs more information, I'll be happy to fill in any gaps
I may have left. Thanks for your time.
