Re: Reverse lookup issue

Kevin saves that day!

Good eye - that one IP has never worked (for years now) during a reverse
lookup and I could never figure out why.

Thank you - I've called the ISP and am hoping they can actually explain the
issue such that the person who actually creates the entries will understand
what he needs to correct :-)

Best & Thanks!

Hi Folks;

I have a reverse lookup issue with one of my IP's. I made sure that
my ISP created reverse entries for both of them yet only one
resolves. Can anyone take a look at 70.66.128.238 for me and tell me
what's wrong?

I'm using Windows 2000 & DNS but I'm no longer that fluent in DNS :-)

Thanks!

The PTR exists, however, it seems the admin that created the PTR was a
little punchy on the keyboard and entered a space after the ca and before
the trailing dot.

Reports ns1.askmarvin.ca . [from 64.59.160.50]

Answer:
70.66.128.238 PTR record: ns1.askmarvin.ca . [TTL 43200s] [A=None] *ERROR*
There is no A record for ns1.askmarvin.ca . (may be negatively cached).
