The hosts file I just looked at is just over 500 K in size.
What is best, delete hosts hope for the best or if I edit hosts file not
sure what best to delete out ?
Normally you would have a minimal hosts file (the default) of one entry:
127.0.0.1 localhost
(most of the time this entry isn't even important on a Windows
machine however.)
I too have seen 100% cpu issue when using such large hosts files
on Win2000. It would process it for about an hour then everything
was fine until the next reboot or other reprocessing of the file.
