Read inline,
In news:83B1A7A2-F718-4D08-8EC7-753D20D89890@xxxxxxxxxxxxx,
Team ZR-1 <TeamZR1@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> typed:
Win2000 client, getting tcp/ip via router thus dhcp
Has service pack 4
Random basis services control manager errors several times in a row
and event log shows
Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for a transaction response from
the Dnscache service.
Then services.exe sucks up 100% cpu for several minutes
What causes this ?
something on client set without me knowing it ?
Someway to fix ?
Thanks
Possibly an extremely large hosts file getting loaded into the DNS cache?
