Re: DNS replication on 2 domain on 2 forests

the gateway address should be the switch/router address on each side

for the 192.168.1.0/24 network the router address is 192.168.1.63 and you
should configure your computers on that subnet accordingly with that address
in the gateway field

for the 10.10.1.0/24 network the router address is 10.10.1.SOMETHING
and you should configure your computers on that subnet accordingly with that
address in the gateway field

you should be able to ping now....

for name resolution (DNS) between the two domains, you should either:
* create a secondary zone on each side from the other side
* forward one side for the other sides domain to the other side (do this on
each side)

after that you will be able to setup an external trust (assuming both are at
least w2k domains)

Hi there,

I'm trying to setup 2 domain in 2 differents forests with an external
trust between both domain.
These two domain are only on a switch no access to internet

Switch address 192.168.1.63

1st domain

test.com

my server is configure like this
server name : test01
ip address : 192.168.1.21
dns server : 192.168.1.21
subnet : 255.255.255.0
gateway i'm not sure what i need to put (should i put 192.168.1.21 or
the switch address)

2nd domain

test2.com

my server is configure like this
server name : test02
ip address : 10.10.1.21
dns server : 10.10.1.21
subnet 255.255.255.0
gateway i put the server it self 10.10.1.21 (maybe im wrong ?)

DNS configuration
each domain as a dns server
i put primary zone as integrated AD for both
i configured a secondary zone for replication over both domain (is that
correct)

And i'm not able to ping each domain, i want to know what do i need to
do ?
Thanks

.
