Nico,

Your problem is with the network. You have two different networks that have to be connected by a router/ VLAN routing switch or something like that. Your gateway should be the IP address of the router on the segment or the address assigned to the VLAN (depending on your setup).

Once you have the IP network working, you shouldn't have any problems communicating -- or at least surfacing a different problem.

So, on each segment, get your Gateway correct, make sure you can ping your local switch, then the address of the opposite segment. From there, you're golden.
