Duplicate name on the network, dns resolved
Guys,
When I load this computer on (its not part of the domain). It gives me
a duplicate name exist on the network.
I checked AD and removed the computer name. Also check DNS.
When I do a nslookup on the pc name, it resolved!! This pc used to be
in production, then it was turned off for a while. Now I want to put
it back into production.
What should I do besides giving it a new name. Its old ip address has
been used by another machine at this moment.
Its a windows 2003 server. Can I do ipconfig /flushdns at the
dns/domain controller (both on the same server)?
I never use ipconfig /flushdns before on this network. Any harm to it
when its on production?
Thanks,
Tony
