I have a small network consisting of three Windows 2000
Servers and about 25 Windows XP Pro workstations. I took
over ownership not to long ago and notice the domain name
of the server wwww.domainname.com is the same as the
company's web site which is external www.domainname.com.
So when we log in to the network and then attempt to go
the external web site the request gets directed to the
local network server instead of going to the web site
externally. Currently we are picking up our DNS from an
ISP.
Is there anyway to tell the system to go and search the
web for this url instead of truncating at the local
server. Or will I be force to change the domain name of
the local network environment?
