Let me put it this way, before SBC offered DSL, I had DSL from another ISP
here that had there DSL on a dedicated line (which BTW wasn't fast enough
for my son to play StarCraft and anyone else to download anything). In
addition to that I had a my main voice line, a fax line, and my childrens
line so, I was paying for four wires coming into my home. I have combined
all four lines into one and cut my cost by more than 50% by using
personalized rings for the kids and fax line.
So to answer your question yes, SBC's DSL lines can support DSL and voice,
the kit they send out has plenty of filters to get the DSL squeal out of the
line and DSL gets an unfiltered line.
