I am deeply sorry to everyone and his dog for having been responsible for
unleashing this perpetual big-endian/little-endian dispute on those who are
probably more interested in content than in style. For those that do not
know, this has been hashed out in countless discussions in countless
newsgroups. Yes, there are accepted standards, and yes, there is room for
disagreement. Or there would be if the disagreement were not so voluminous!
