Thanks for the response! I will go back to my computer
and try it, though it looks like something I have tried.
I will post the results tomorrow morning.
Should it not work, I still believe the Microstaff
deletion of winaspi or whatever *.inf or *ini file is
what makes the os incapable of recognizing COM3.
