There probably is no unallocated space on the disk hence the problem.

| Hi,
|
| I am trying to create a new partition on my Windows 2000 Server laptop,
has
| service pack 4, is a domain controller with DFS and Active Directory

|
| I need to create a new partition for RIS install, and need about a 3 gig
| partition for it.
|
| According to the help file you just go in to disk management snap-in right
| click anywhere on the free space and click create new partition, hmm!!
|
| This is where the problems start (might just be me being thick) when i go
| into disk management snap-in i am presented with just the one disk, which
i

| include the creation of a new partition, the disk is not set to dynamic
| volume, and i am logged on as administrator with full rights.
|
| I have also tried to find a free partition manager utility, huh fat chance
| of that having searched the net, i don't want to buy one as i am only
| creating a one off partition.
|
| Does Fdisk create NTFS partitions?
|
| Can you guide me or give me a site where i can download a free partition
| utility
|
| Thanks
