RE: event ID 1586

Hi Jason,

Thanks for update!

Actually, only Windows 2000 domain controllers that are configured to
replicate directly with the PDC FSMO role holder replicate the checkpoint
information. This situation may generate the 1586 event on other domain
controllers that do not replicate directly with the PDC FSMO role holder.
At this point, you may safely ignore the 1586 event. You do not need to
create a connection object always from the DCs to the PDC emulator in a
large domain.

If there is anything that is unclear, please feel free to let me know.

Thanks & Regards,

Jason Tan

| Hi jason,
|
| i must say
|
| "in the topology don't replicate DIRECTLY with
| the pdc master fsmo owner."
|
| i determine it from the connection object that is configured in
| > Active Directory (AD) Sites and Services of the domain controller that
gives the error, i have 2 domain controllers that give that error, both are
configured (as usual) with two partners to replicate (authomatic topology)
and none of his partners have the fsmo of pdc. All other dc's that have in
his replication topology the pdc as a partner don't have the error in the
event log.
|
| My question is, in a large domain , of course, not all dcs can have as a
| DIRECT REPLICATION partner (one of the two) the pdc fsmo role owner, must
i
| create a connection object always from the dcs to the pdc emulator to
solve
| that error?
|
| Thanx for your help
