I am hoping that someone will be able to help me with this problem. I
recently did a rip and replace on my network and installed W2KAS in place of
W2KServer. Additionally, I used a different server for my DC while I rebuild
the original server and upgrade it. I installed AD and added to it the users
and the computers in my domain and network.
In checking my event logs I get a recurring error in the system log telling
me I have a netlogon error event id 5513. The description is: The computer
<computer name> tried to connect to the server \\<server name> using the
trust relationship established by the <domain>. However, the computer lost
the correct security identifier (SID) when the domain was reconfigured.
Reestablish the trust relationship. I receive this message for each of my
clients.
I have searched the MS Knowledge base and cannot find a solution to this
issue. I only have 10 client computers that I need to reestablish in my
network. Can anyone offer me direction or guidance to resolve this issue? My
domain has always been a Win2K domain and not an NT4 domain.
I know that I could go to each client and run the Network Identification
Wizard and rejoin the domain but this will add another profile to the client
itself which will necessitate moving the documents and other files to this
new profile.
Thanks,
Kevin
