Re: External trust and a member server

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

Hi Steven, and thank you very much.

And yes. The domain A is the trusting domain and when I use a domain admin
account of that domain the issue occurs. I can not log on with domain B user
account to that member server.

I will next use a portscanner from the member server and from the DC of the
trusting domain and compare the results to the document you mentioned. I
will let you know the results. I have a doubt that this could be a firewall
issue. I also have a test lab with similar configuration and there is no
problems with the configuration.

Luckily this issue is not very critical because the trusted domain users can
still connect to their old Windows 2000 AD and use the needed resources from
there without any problems.

Hi NetGear,

Thanks for your reply and I am sorry for my delayed response due to the
complexity of this issue and the weekend. I hope this has not caused you
too much inconvenience.

I have created a test environment on my side and there is no any problem
in
my tests. First, I would like to confirm with you that whether the issue
still occurs if you log on the member server with the administrator
account
of domainA?

I was not sure about that whether this issue is caused by firewall. Based
on the current situation, I would suggest we check the firewall settings
to
see whether the issue can be resolved. You may refer to the following KB
article to open the necessary ports on the firewall:
