Be sure to configure the remote location as a separate site in Active
Directory Sites & Services, this will cut down the replication traffic on
your WAN link. See this link for more info:

To initially install the DC, you can configure it at your main office to
allow the bulk of replication to take place, then move it to your remote
site and change its IP address configuration. If it's Windows Server 2003,
you can use the Install From Media option.

Hi,

I need install a DC in a remote location. My problem is the link is very
slow (256k). my idea is install a DC in a notebook and start a new DC
replication between notebook and new server (cross cable).

I would like to know if is a good idea.
