problems running shortcuts to .exe's / GPOs

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

I am posting this again, as I feel I did not have the time at the time, to adequately explain my situation.  I hope this is much clearer.

Thanks for any help.

What settings in the GPO (2000 AD, but 2003 server (Citrix) in this case) do I need to tweak to stop all these 2003 annoying security warnings & restrictions.

I have several problems, let me explain.

1. Running a shortcut to an .exe via a UNC path causes the message:   “Some files can harm your computer....”blah blah…. “would you like to open or save…”   Open is available, Save is ghosted, and “Always ask” is also ghosted, so I can’t deselect it.   I want to get rid of these warnings altogether for shortcuts.

2.  In fiddling around with my GPO, I somehow caused this to happen. After the above, selecting OPEN, causes “Applications will terminate.   Windows security settings on this computer probably do not allow files to be changed.   The <application> will not start.  Please notify your System Manager or Network Administrator of this message immediately.”   Unfortunately, that’s me, and I don’t know what GPO setting caused this.  If I log in as a user that is not subject to the GPO in question, I can run the application fine.

So, I would like to find out where I go in AD GPO’s to sanction a specific .exe/.bat/etc. as “OK” to run.  I know on the local PC you can go into Internet Options, and add the \\network\share to the trusted sites, but I do not see anywhere in a GPO where you can do this.

Any ideas???

Thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!
