try this \\<Ipaddress>\data
This takes name resolution out of the picture.
You should also verify that F&P sharing is enabled and that a personal
firewall is not blocking access to ports 139 or 445. The best tool to
verify this is portqry. Just query the host that has the shares from a host
wanting to access the shares.
You might want to run NETDIAG on both host to see if there are any errors.
