We installed 14 new servers in our forest. 11 were
additonal DC's in existing child domains. 3 were to be
new domains. I've been having "RPC not available" issues
for a while now, but to get these servers inplace I used
laptops to join the forest as the intended domains(each
laptop it's own domain). Then brought them out to the
sites and had the new servers join the laptop domain that
was intended for the new servers. This appeared to
work...I have corrected my RPC problems but I now notice
that the 3 (laptop to server) migration's dont show up in
my AD sites and services, but the 11 servers that joined
existing domains do...I've tried to add a server to the
AD S&S but the computer name I try to attach it to gives
me the error "The name reference is invalid",,,,,any1
have an idea how to get these 3 servers in my AD S&S ???
