There is no problem in having user account objects that have only the "user
logon name ( pre windows 2000 )". This is their sAMAccountName attribute
and that is why it looks like it does in the user account properties ( in
the Account Tab: NKDSOLUTIONS\cshultz ).
The 'other' user id to which you are referring is the UPN. This is the user
name that looks like an e-mail address ( cshultz@nkdsolutions.com ) and is
not really necessary. You can get by without it. However, it could a nice
feature. There is nothing that will happen when you add this attribute to
existing user account objects. Remember, it is just an attribute with an
associated value.
