RE: Access VSS trough internet

Hello Roger,

IIS couldn't forward HTTP request to another server. It just redirects the
request. When end user browser website on SERVERDADES, IIS on SERVERDADES
will tell end user that the Request should be send to SERVERAP. Then IE
will send another HTTP Request to SERERAPP. But, because there is no Public
IP address bind with server SERERAPP. The request will failed on DNS.

In this scenario, you need a proxy server (such as ISA) to forward HTTP
Request to the backend IIS server. When HTTP Request arrives at ISA Server,
ISA Server will forward the request to backend IIS server directly, rather
than ask IE to send another request.
However, if you haven't any ISA Server so far, I'm afraid to say you may
have to deploy the whole VSS database on SERVERDADES...

Hope this helps. Please feel free to let me know if there is anything
unclear. We are glad to assist you.
Have a great day,
Best regards,

Wen Yuan

where an initial response from the community or a Microsoft Support

up response may take approximately 2 business days as the support
professional working with you may need further investigation to reach the
most efficient resolution. The offering is not appropriate for situations
