Hello Rainer,
Sorry for late response, due to weekend.
According to the description, you are using VS2005 which is integrated with
VSS 2005. However, you got a dialog which required https address and folder
when add current project to underlying SourceSafe. Please correct me if I
misunderstand anything here. Thanks.
It seems like your Visual Studio 2005 are using INTERNET adapter to connect
underlying VSS 2005. Please check the following setting in Visual Studio
2005.
1) Click Tools|Options in menu.
2) Select "Source Control" node from the left panel in Options dialog.
3) Check what is the current setting in "Current source control plug-in:"
list box?
Is it "Microsoft Visual SourceSafe (Internet)"?
If this is the case, please set it back to "Microsoft Visual
SourceSafe" in the dropdown list.
Microsoft Visual SourceSafe (Internet) is a new feature used for connection
from Internet. Thus, VS 2005 required Https address and Folder to connect
remote website.
This is a setting in Visual Studio 2005 IDE, and not related to VSS 2005.
Thus, it will occur on the machine, even though VSS 2005 has been installed
by default.
Hope this helps. Please kindly let me know whether this setting works on
your side. We are glad to assist you.
Have a great day,
Sincerely,
Wen Yuan
