Steven,

I do not quite understand: Have you added your database to
Source Safe first? I have not used VSS with Access for a
while but as far as I can remember the sequence should be
as follows:

- open the database you want to put under VSS (or create a
new one);
- select Source Safe -> Add Database to Source Safe menu
- create a project in VSS when prompted to do so

after these steps your database will be checked-in and the
corresponding VSS project will exist. If you want to get
the database out of VSS (in a different location or on
another PC) you will need to open Microsoft Access then
select Source Safe -> Create database from VSS. I do not
recall any problems in doing so.

Let me know how you went.
