Arrggg....
Thanks all for the responses - Patrick's repsonse answered the question (unfortunately)....
I was aware of the ability to see what was checked out currently - this isn't what I was hoping for.
While checking out an item may not modify the item as such, it would still be useful for security, logging,
etc. to be able to tell who had checked a file out. (Among other things, a file could be checked out and then
modified outside the SS environment, etc.) - it would be good to be able to know who had gotten a look
at the code and where they checked it out to, for a variety of reasons.
Guess there's no way to do it, short of writing a custom front-end for VSS. Blech.
IMHO, this is a pretty major oversight... From a security perspective, it is very important to know who
checked out items and to where.
What's the use of prompt for a comment on checkout?
I'm thinking the events must be stored somewhere, if not readily available from the UI, unless the comment
is just stored for the lifetime of the checkout?

I'll take a stab in the dark here and guess that you might be wanting to know about all the checked out files.
You can find this info by:
1) Select the project in question.
2) Select View|Search|Status Search from the Main Menu in the VSS explorer.
3) The Status Search dialog provides a few options to hone your search such as by-userid and/or recursive search.
Hope this helps.
