RE: Which VStudio 2008 Edition Can Connect to SQL Server?

I am using Visual Studio 2008 Professional edition and I am wondering if I
can connect to anything other than SQL Server 2005. I am trying to connect
to a SQL Server v 7 and I keep getting errors "When connecting to SQL Server
2005, this failure may be caused by the fact that under the default settings
SQL Server does not allow remote connections"

Can someone tell me which edition of Visual Studio 2008 will allow the
Database Explorer to connect to a SQL Server database? I am currently
running C# 2008 Express Edition, but I can only connect to an Access
Database File, SQL Server Compact 3.5 and SQL Server Database File. I
would like to connect to a SQL Server instance (specifically SQL
Server 2000), not the database file. I tried getting it to work with
Visual Studio 2008 trial and it worked fine, but my understanding is
that the trial is actually the Profession edition. Will the Standard
edition also connect to SQL Server instances? The information on
microsoft.com isn't very clear on this matter. If I can make do with
Standard edition, I prefer to go that route because most of the
features on Professional edition are not useful for me. Also, I can't
recall if I was able to connect to SQL Server 2000 or 2005 with the
VStudio trial. Does VStudio 2008 have support for connecting to SQL
Server 2000 using the Database Explorer? That's what I'm using right
now because I have Windows SBS 2003 (not RC2). Thanks in advance!

John
