Error during setup: ngen.exe - entry Point Not Found

Hi all. During install on disk one: The error box pops up and says: "The
procedure entry point CorGetSvc coulnd not be located in the dynamic link
library mscoree.dll." The header on the error box says: ngen.exe - Entry
Point Not Found.

Any ideas? stops me dead in the water. New machine. HP Pavilion Intel
Core 2 duo chip 2 Gig Ram XP Media OS
