VS background/workspace is gone

I'm working with a clean install of Visual Studio 6.0 on a cleanly rebuilt
machine. Everything looked fine when I exited VS, then when I restarted it,
all of the floating toolbars appears over my desktop, but no
background/workspace. Any way to get this to work again? Thanks.
