Visual Studio C++6 and VisualC++.Net

My Oh My.
Own Visual Studio 6 including Visual C++. Bought VisualC++.NET Standard.
Installing Visual C++.NET has caused a problem with original software.
Trying to compile the netlib lapack++.
Visual C++6.0 now does not work. If there is an error in a build Visual
C++6.0 hangs. The stop build menu item does not work and program will not
close down and gives a warning message that the build proccess must be
stopped. Cant exit program unless you crash out with restart or Task
manager exit..
Can't compile the files in Visual C++.NET as the simple compiler directive
#include <iostream.h> is not recocnised!!!
Change this to <iostream> and the number of errors is now enormous.
The libraries for Visual C++6.0 for clapack are available from netlib. No
workspaces for VisualC++.NET are available. Seems little point in changing
them to Visual C++.NET as it does not recognise simple standard vanilla C++
pragma directives.
Is there a known issue with running Visual C++6.0 and VisualC++.NET on a
single machine. It is clear there is legacy code such as clapack and
lapack++ that people use. I want to run both versions.
Help???
