Apologies for what might appear a dumb question, but I do not usually
write software for Windows systems...
I develop C++ applications on Linux and I am considering a tool for
cross platform development. As I shall be porting to Windows only a few
relatively simple applications, I do not intend to upgrade my Visual
Studio 6 to the .NET version.

Can I expect future versions of Microsoft operating systems to run
executables compiled by Visual C++ 6?

Thanks!

Andrew
