I'm installing Visual Studio .NET Enterprisempting toe Architect on Vista Ultimate SP1 via this MSDN install package :What version of Visual Studio are you attempting to install? 2003? There are serious issues for 2003 in Vista and it's not officially supported. If my guess is correct about 2003, you've probably encountered an incompatibility.
EN_VS.NET_Ent_Arch_Full.exe
\SETUP\WEBSERVER.HTM contains a list of pre-requisites, of which the first is :
1. Download Security Updates
Before enabling these components, you must download the latest security updates. Go to http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/security/ to download the latest security updates for these components. Unless you installed your operating system via a network, you should disconnect your machine from the network until you have completed step 4, Install Security Updates listed below. If you do not disconnect, your machine could be susceptible to viruses between installing the components and applying the latest security updates.
However , when I go to http://msdn.microsoft.com/vstudio/security/ there is nothing there and there is no redirect.
What should I do ?
Also , the instructions in this doc seem to be geared towards 2000/XP , not Vista. Is there a set of instructions for Vista ? Should I be using a different VS.NET install package ?
Thanks.
