Hi Ed,
Is the problem occuring when you've also have SQL Server 2008 beta
installed on the same machine? The information and suggestion I mentioned
previously is for this scenario.

I just installed Visual Studio 2008 Standard Edition from newly purchased

I get the same problem with the message "Package
'Microsoft.VisualStudio.Xaml' has failed to load properly......".
My system is XP SP2. Also have Visual Web Developer 2008 Express and
C# 2008 Express installed and working correctly.effect?
Please advise.

So you've tried installed the VS 2008 SP1 and .NET 3.5 SP1 without
possible, aPer that article, it may need to install VS 2008 SP1. Sure , if
andcomplete clean up and reinstall would make better. But as mentioned
previously, the non-english environment may also somewhat affect since
currently only english and japanese version of the new SP1 beta is
available.

Hi Steven,
I have fully uninstalled Sql Server 2008 RC0, then repaired, then
uninstalled then re-installed VS2008, but the problem remains....
Perhaps should I uninstall .NET 3.5 SP1 ?
