Hi, I had the same issue, reinstalled, redownloaded, etc... nothing helped.

I'm running the Symantec Antivirus scanner, and disabled the related services for the antivirus after reading this post. That did the trick for me. SP1 installed just fine, and after rebooting I'm good to go.
