Re: Deploy Web Applications

Tech Tip: Click here to run a free scan for Windows Errors and optimize PC performance

When I right-click on any of the projects, "Publish Web Site" is not an
option. The projects are created from the "ASP.NET Web Application" template.

After skimming over the 500 results from a search in the help, I can't find
anything helpful.

I have developed a suite of web apps using the MSVC 2003 IDE. The apps
were
built on a test server, but now I am ready to deploy onto the production
server. I was expecting to setup the "Production" solution configuration
and
point it to the production server so that when I built as production, it
would deploy it to the production server. But it doesn't look like that's
possible.

So, how do I delpoy this project to production? I want to maintain my
test
setup so I can continue development, then deploy just production ready
code.

thanks!

Have you tried searching for "Publish Web Site" in your MSDN Help? It sounds
like the tool you need.
In your Solution Explorer window, right-click on the project, then select
Publish Web Site from the context-sensitive menu.
