RE: Test View window crashing Visual Studio 2008

Tech-Archive recommends: Fix windows errors by optimizing your registry

Hi Wen,

I have found that if i create a small solution with a project then
everything works fine, or if i create a solution and only add a subset of my
test projects it is fine. My problem seems occur as i add more test projects
to the solution. When i seems to reach about 3000 tests then the IDE will
hang.

Each time that the IDE crashes i have been sending the Error Report to
microsoft... When i look at the report myself each time there seems to be a
reference to the System.Drawing Assembly ( none of my projects reference the
System.Drawing Assembly ).

Hello Danielm,

According to your description, you faced an issue that VS 2008 IDE crashed
in MSTest, but in command line MSTest works fine. If I misunderstood
anything here, please don't hesitate to correct me.

IDE crash/hang issues are difficult to track on newsgroup. I suggest you
may consider creating new library project and unit test on this assemble.
Thereby, we can confirm if this is a project specific issue or VS IDE
issue. Moreover, I'm afraid to say the error "Target Invocation Exception"
doesn't help. Actually, we need more detailed information to start
investigating. Have you checked Application Event log? Is there any error
log in it?

Please feel free to let us know if you have any more concern. We are glad
to assist you.
Have a great day,
Best regards,

Wen Yuan
