Re: Components in solution not automatically appearing in Toolbox

I have found that for components to show up in the toolbox, they need to be
referenced in an assembly other than the one that is consuming them.

Also, check your settings under Tools >> Options. Go to the "Windows Forms
Designer" node, and check the value for "AutoToolboxPopulate". It should be
True to see components in the toolbox.

According to the MSDN article "Walkthrough: Automatically Populating
the Toolbox with Custom Components", custom components should
automatically appear in the Toolbox. This isn't working on my system.

I didn't realize that Visual Studio has this feature till I ran into
the article. I've been manually adding custom components and user
controls to the Toolbox.

There's an earlier post to this group with the same issue, but it
doesn't have any replies.

I tried resetting the Toolbox. Didn't fix the problem and removed the
custom components that I had manually added.

If you have any insight into this, I would appreciate hearing from
you.
