Hi Robert,
Review the following list of hotfixes, specially those with the words "stops
responding" or "slow", and request the ones that may apply to your case by
phone at the Microsoft offices of your country (the hotfixes are not
publicly downloadable because they are not fully tested). They are free of
charge, you pay only the phone call, and they send them in a couple of hours
usually.
