Hi,
I'm creating a Setup project and I would like to add some information
to the user's Application Data folder, with the typical Manufacturer
\Application structure. I have created a special folder and selected
"User's Application Data Folder", but I cannot create a subfolder that
automatically has the manufacturer name. I can only do it by writing
the name by hand, but that's not what I want.

I have managed to do it by creating a custom folder with the
DefaultLocation set to [AppDataFolder][Manufacturer]\[ProductName],
but I think it would be more correct to do it with special folders, if
at all possible. Otherwise, it doesn't seem logical to provide direct
access to those special folders if you have to hardcode the
subfolders' names.

So, is there any way to do it by using the special folders or do I
have to go on with custom folders?

We need to know what setup program you're using first.

If it's the P&DW then I'd suggest switching to something
else (Inno setup for example).

The P&DW was old (and buggy) years ago and nothing has
changed since.

I use what comes with Visual Studio 2005 Professional. I don't know
its name. You know, Add New Project->Setup and Deployment Projects -
Setup Project

Using another software, no matter how buggy this is, is out of the
question.
Thanks

I'd switched to this group from a VB6 group and hence
answered in terms of VB6, sorry about that.
