RE: Problem after VS 2008 sp1 or something else

Tech-Archive recommends: Repair Windows Errors & Optimize Windows Performance

Hello Hongye,

I found the problem. It was my mistake. Mistakenly I installed open type
instead of true type IDAutomation font. For days this made my head spinning
trying different directions to solve the problem.

Sorry Hongye and thank you for your help.

I am still prefer that MicrosoftReportViewer can show four columns barcode.
Is it possible? The only way I am able to show four coulumn after exporting
into PDF.

I gave up for now making 4 columns on MicrosoftReportViewer- the only way I
am able to do it was by exporting into PDF.

I will send you my try-out of creating barcode using MicrosoftReportViewer.

Hello Hermawih,

Please make sure that the server and client of reporting service should
both install IDAutomationHC39M_FREE font. That is because Reporting Service
cannot embed fonts into PDF file.
As documented at http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms159713.aspx:

"The PDF rendering extension does not embed fonts. Fonts that are used in
the report must be installed on the report server and on the client
computers used to view the report.
When the report server generates a report in PDF format, it uses the
information stored in the font referenced by the report to measure and
create character mappings within the PDF file. If the referenced font is
not installed on the report server, the resulting PDF file might not
contain the correct mappings and might not display correctly when viewed.
In addition, the computer that is used to view the report must also have
the correct font installed for the report to display correctly. "

For the 4 columns issue, would you please send me the project? Let me try
to help you on the code level. My email is hongyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx,
remove 'online.'
Or you can give me some method to reproduce the issue by myself.

In the meanwhile, I will also suggest you to uninstall VS2008 SP1 first and
try the report again to see if anything changes. That will effectively help
us to locate the problem in the SP1 or not. Since from official SP1
announcement at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/vstudio/products/cc533447.aspx, there is no
update on reporting service.
I will wait for your further information. If you have any other concerns or
questions, please DON'T hesitate to tell me. Thanks.

Regards,
Hongye Sun (hongyes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, remove 'online.')
