Re: VS.NET 2008: Why can't I see my images in design time preview?

Thanks, Walter, I took a long look at this. My guess is still that this is some weird permissions and/or display and/or configration issue. All indications are that the component is successfully creating the temporary files in the temp areas of the filesystem. For some reason images are just not appearing in the IDE in their previewed form. Very strange behavior. I have replaced all instances of the DLL with their latest version and verified that the temp areas in windows and in IE are clear.

Hmmmmm. Will keep looking...

Hi Ken,

If the components you mentioned are using temporary files to generate the
image files, then this might be related to file system permission or they
are looking for files in an obsolete location. You can try with FileMon
(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/FileAndDisk/Filemon.mspx) or
Process Monitor
(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/sysinternals/processesandthreads/processmo
nitor.mspx) to see if it could give us any clues.
