Re: VS.NET 2008: Why can't I see my images in design time preview?

The vendor reports that the component DOES work with 2008 RTM design view. Something is wonky with my particular settings or setup.

Two things I've tried:
1) Deleting all temporary files using the Windows Disk Cleanup Tool
2) Making sure all instances of the DLL are current.

Guess: some setting in VS.NET or some security setting is preventing the proper display of these dynamic images. Any ideas what I should be looking at?

Thank you,
-KF

OK, sorry for the first couple of somewhat incomplete messages.

The issue seems to relate to a couple of components I use for dynamically generating images. These worked in design view in VS.NET 2005. No luck in 2008. If there are settings regarding VS.NET's treatment of images in design view, please point me to them. Thanks.

Just to offer a bit more information: when I place or pick out images, I get a little icon in the design view connoting an image, and an outline around that. However, the image itself does not appear in the design view. This worked fine in VS.NET 2005 on the same machine. VS.NET 2008 doesn't show the images in design view. Any workarounds?

Hi,

I'm building ASP.NET websites. None of my images preview correctly in VS.NET's design time view, even if I explicitly pick out an image URL using the IDE. The images appear correctly when I run the website in a browser off of localhost or when I deploy.

Any ideas what's going on here? Some security setting associated with whatever VS.NET is using to "browse" internally, perhaps?

Thanks,
-KF
