Walter,
It's been several days since I posted something about this issue in microsoft.public.windows.vista.networking_sharing, without any
responses.
Does Microsoft monitor that group? If not, which group do they monitor that you suggest I post my question in?

Hi Mark,.
Yes that ::1 is IPv6 address for localhost and IPv6 is enabled by default
on Vista. Usually the system should resolve localhost as both IPv6 and
IPv4. In the asp.net development webserver case, it's only listening on the
IPv4 address (as command "netstat -an" shows). I'm not sure what might
cause your Vista only returning the IPv6 address for localhost resolving.
I'm no expert on Vista networking and IPv6, I've done some research but
didn't find anything useful. Since this issue is related to Vista
networking instead of ASP.NET, I suggest you to ask in Vista related
newsgroups or forums. Thanks for your understanding.
