Hi, I ran profiler, did 2 things, in VS I clicked on "Shpow project portal",
I get the following line in profiler
134 20 Login failed for user 'SQL2K5\TFSSERVICE'. [CLIENT:
192.168.1.6] Internet Information
Services TFSSERVICE SQL2K5\TFSSERVICE NULL NULL NULL NULL 2580 53 12/1/2007
6:31:32 PM NULL NULL
But when I click on one of the queries to didplay work items, everything
goes OK, here is the profiler statments:
Audit
Login TeamFoundation TFSSERVICE SQL2K5\TFSSERVICE 5476 54 2007-12-01
18:30:59.483
Audit
Logout TeamFoundation TFSSERVICE SQL2K5\TFSSERVICE 0 3429 0 0 5476 54 2007-12-01 18:30:59.483 2007-12-01 18:30:59.483

It seems that it is an issue between IIS WSS and SQL? what do you think

Hello Eliassal,.
Thanks for your correct. The method which I provide only works with SQL
Accounts.
Now, (I understood) if you open with tfsservice account, this account
really can access "STS_CONFIG_TFS" database correctly. No error logged in
SQL Log and SQL profile. But after launch IE, you still get connection
error in SQL log file. But, SQL Profiler doesn't capture any error. If I
misunderstood any here, please don't hesitate to correct me.
Regarding to SQL Profiler doesn't capture Login Failed event, It seems you
haven't added "Audit Login Failed" event into Profiler. Would you please
follow the steps as below to add it into Profiler again?
In SQL Profiler,
1. Create a new trace
2. In Trace Properies Dialog, navigate to "Events Selection" page.
3. Please make sure you check the checkbox "Show all events".
4. Then, select "Security Audit"|"Audit Login Failed" and check the
checkbox before this event.
5. Click Run.
Then, please browse project portal again. Is there any message captured by
SQL Profiler?
If true, please paste it in this thread. It helps on research very much.
If you have any more concern, please feel free to update here. We are glad
to assist you.
Have a great day,
Best regards,
Wen Yuan
