Hello Zip,
As for the " how to configure a Windows 2003 Server to allow Visual Studio
websites to be hosted?", do you mean you want to deploy a vs 2005 developed
ASP.NET application in IIS6(and let other client access it) or directly use
the VS 2005 test webserver to host the application(and let other remote
client access)?
If you're using the Visual Studio 2005's test server(the
WebDev.WebServer.Exe), I'm afraid this test server can only be used for
local test. That means the ASP.NET application hosted in this test server
can only be accessed from local machine(whether the webdev.webserver.exe
runs).
If you're getting the problem when deploying in IIS server, there may
exists some configuration problem in the IIS server or the windows server
OS that prevent the application be correctly accessed by other remote
clients. For this case, would you please let me know the following things:
** Before deploying your web application, have you performed precompilation
on it(use the "Publish Web Site" or "Web Deployment Project")?
** What are the exact steps you currently used to deploy the web
application into IIS server? Would you list the primary steps?
** Does the error you encounter occur at deploy time or occur after you try
visiting the web application from a remote client machine?

have any particular concerns in this case.
