I hope someone can help me in this rare issue.Sounds like a bad DVD copy. I'd suggest that you recreate a new copy from
I was installing VS2005 from a DVD copy, and suddenly, I got this error
message: "Error 1305. Error reading from file e:\vs\Program
Files\Microsoft
Visual Studio 8\SDK\v2.0\GuiDebug\shortcutCLRDbg32.txt. Verify that the
file
exists and that you can access it." The windows message gives me only two
buttoms, Retry and Cancel. I retried many times but always gave me the
same
error.
Then, I explored the DVD to go into the file. Even though I try to open
the
file shortcutCLRDbg32.txt, I cannot. It gives me this message: "Cannot
open
the E:\VS\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio
8\SDK\v2.0\GuiDebug\shortcutCLRDbg32.txt file. Makes sure a disk is in the
drive you specified"
Finally, the only choice that I have is just to click Cancel.
I am using Windows XP PRO SP2.
the original source. If the source is an ISO downloaded from MSDN and the
problem persists, you may need to download again and check the SHA-1
information on the download page to verify the download.
