RE: MSBuild generates different files than Visual Studio 2005 ?

Your understanding is correct, however looking at the issue you refer me to
doesn't quite match what I'm running into. The known issue is about getting
many, many warning messages which slows the build down. In my case, I don't
get any different message, but the process does not copy some of the
referenced assemblies to the output folder.
The project I'm building is a C# one, the missing assembly is also a C# one.
(One of the other referenced assemblies is a C++ one, but that does get
copied to the output folder.)
I'll e-mail you a stand-alone solution in the next day or two. Thanks for
the reply.

Hi Josh,.
Based on my understanding, the problem is when you use the MSBuild to build
a C++/C# mixed solution, some referenced assemblies would not be copied to
local, but the solution builds OK inside VS2005 IDE.
I perform some research and found a similar issue in our database, that
problem is caused by a bug of VC++ build engine. I suggest you can refer
it in the following links:
Problem building Managed C++ project with Msbuild that has multiple
assembly references

We already have a fix for this bug. The fix will be contained in the
upcoming VS2005 SP1.
If it is not your case, would you please provide a stand-alone
solution(zipped) to us for research, you can send it to me directly.(Please
remove the "online" of my email address alias.)
Thanks!

Gary Chang
