Re: Asp.net 2.0 and Dreamweaver

Hi,

Can you use Dreamweaver and VS.Net together now?

I have a site that was built with DW code inside (therefore you could not
use VS.Net 2003 with it).

This sounds wrong to me; what do you mean by "DW code"? What kind of code would stop you opening it with VS 2003?

Apparently, you can use code inside with the new version version of VS, but
do you have to run the site as a total site or can you use both side by
side.

Not sure what you mean here by "code inside", or "side by side", or "total site"?

I would like to convert my site to asp 2.0 and use VS with it, but I don't
want to do that if there is going to be problem using VS with all the pages
I used DW to create.

Even if you'd created them with Microsoft tools, you'd still have to convert them all before you could use them in VS2005.

Of course, I am now finding out from this group that VS 2005 is really slow. I am not sure I want to jump to it if this is the case.

It's slower than VS2003, but sometimes it's because people's computers are not set up properly, other times they have bad config, and other times it's related to conversions from VS2003.

If you set up VS2005 on properly configured Windows 2000 client/server computers running on modern hardware and with SCSI drives, and use virgin projects, it will run most tasks almost as fast as VS2003 on the same hardware.
